6:00 Call to Order
Groton Conservation Forum
Organized by the Groton Conservation Trust, the Groton Conservation Commission, and the Groton Trails Committee. Open to the public. There will be representatives from all the major open space landowners in Groton attending the Forum this year, in addition to many other conservation groups in Groton.
6:00 Social Hour. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
7:00 Introductions of groups in attendance
7:15 Presentation by Dr. David Black, who is a member of the faculty at Groton School (Ecology & Environmental Science) and a board member of the Groton Conservation Trust. Dr. Black’s presentation will focus on the importance of planning for connectivity between conservation parcels (and thus the landowners) in light of likely stresses that will be put on biological systems as a result of climate change. He will introduce some of the latest thoughts on adaptations that can be implemented to mitigate some impacts of climate change.
8:00 Mediated question and answers and/or discussion of issues raised that are relevant to multiple stakeholders.
