1. Provide a brief overview of the Charter Review process and status
2. Present a summary of all recommended Charter changes to be voted on a Spring Town Meeting
3. Accept questions from the public
Note: After approximately two years of meetings and two sets of public hearings, the Charter Review Committee has finalized its recommended changes to the Groton Town Charter. The purpose of these meetings is to present the proposed changes and answer any questions from voters. This is an opportunity for voters to understand the changes prior to the April 2017 Spring Town Meeting. There will be a brief, summary level presentation at Town Meeting. Voters who wish to understand these changes in detail are invited to attend one or both of these meetings. Copies of the Charter with all proposed changes will be available on the Town of Groton website no later than Mar 20, 2017. The public is encouraged to review the changes prior to the hearings so as to be able to refer to Charter section numbers and/or line numbers where possible.
