This letter is to confirm the next meeting of the 2013 – 2014 School Council, which will take place on Thursday, April 3 at 4 PM in the MS North Conference Room.

The agenda for this meeting will be as follows:

4. Special Education Teachers – Views on Goal # 1

The council assists the principal in:
1. Adopting educational policies for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards
2. Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school
3. Reviewing the annual school building budget
4. Formulating a School Improvement Plan

Meeting called to order 4:05

Old Business

• Minutes from the February meeting were approved unanimously

• Meeting started with a conversation about PLCs / Goal 3

• Mrs Furnam is putting together a Budget Shortfall Committee and asked Mr. Silverman to hand out a flyer to members on the School Council on the subject.

• There are only two meetings left in the school year for the MS Council

• At our next meeting, the Council will update the annual Parent Survey and discuss some potential changes in the Student/Parent Handbook.

Next Meeting
• Andy Marcinek will attend our meeting to discuss Goal #1
• We will also be inviting 1-2 Special Education teachers to the meeting to provide information towards completing Goal 2

May Meeting/Last Meeting
• Focus will be to tweak the entire plan for presentation to the School Committee in the Fall of 2014

For the remainder of the meeting we continued to work on the School Improvement Plan goals.
