1. Annual reorganization of the Policy Subcommittee: election of Chair; designation of the
subcommittee’s SEPAC liaison for policy agenda items. Discussion/Vote
2. ACL, Interacting with Law Enforcement Officers Engaged in Civil Law Enforcement
(new policy required by the PROTECT Act, St. 2026, c. 163): review of the DESE Model
Policy and the MASC model policy; recommendation to the School Committee for first
reading. Discussion/Vote
3. Discussion: Staff response to an imminent threat from a non-student on school grounds,
follow-up to the question raised at the June 10, 2026 School Committee meeting; review
of applicable policies (KI, Visitors to the Schools; ECAB, Access to Buildings and
Grounds; EBC, Emergency Plans) and district emergency procedures.
