7:00     Call to Order; Welcome to new members Josh LoPresti and Dan Pierpont

7:05     VOTE:  To approve 18 June 2024 minutes

7:10     VOTE:  To approve a slate of committee officers for FY25

7:15     Reports

  1. (7:15) Trail Maintenance – reports from members; needs are growing
  2. (7:20) Nashua Riverwalk in Rich SF:  Obtained approval from MA Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program (NHESP), pending approval of Turtle Protection Plan; Preparation of specifications for bid is ongoing; Sign design team (NRWA) will begin work in late July, in coordination with DCR Interpretive Services.
  3. (7:25) CPA Grant – Tools and equipment are being purchased using Town of Groton’s  P-card.  Each purchase needs 3 quotes and a sales tax exemption form for each vendor. 
  4. (7:35) Sign Subcommittee – Two educational signs have been ordered from VackerSign. One approved by The Groton Center, the other TBD; Trailhead posts have been ordered from Gate City Fence; Auger has been purchased.
  5. (7:40) Equipment maintenance - Self-propelled leaf blower subject to a DR safety recall and is at Great Road Farm & Garden for repair.
  6. (7:45) Shed/Garage at Town Field behind GPL – Work on workshelf, doors, locks, and exterior repair/painting has not yet begun; we have requested electrical service and storage for gasoline.
  7. (7:50) Stoddart Trail in NEFF‘s Sabine Woods – Gravel over geo-grid is on-going.
  8. (8:00) 2024 Liability Forms for NEFF and GCT – Need remaining signatures.
  9. (8:05) Keyes Woods – RDA approved by NEFF; RDA submitted to Con Comm; DCR will replace culvert and provide gravel to level out entrance to trail from NRRT.
  10. (8:15) Wharton Plantation – Bridge sections pulled out of water; Tractor work (J. Petropoulos) on Burntmeadow loop trail postponed until August
  11. (8:25) McLain’s Woods – Tractor work in field (B. Easom): sink holes in field filled; mat of accumulated leaves raked off
