7:00     Call to Order; Recognition of Ken Adams and Harris McWade

7:00     VOTE:  To approve 21 May 2024 minutes

7:05     Reports

  1. (7:05) Trail Maintenance - Wharton Plantation, Groton Place, Red Line, Gamlin (maintenance by Lynch); Still Meadow and Sawtell (mowing by Funch)
  2. (7:10) Nashua Riverwalk in Rich SF:  NOI approved by Conservation Commission 6/11; currently under review by MA Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program (NHESP)
  3. (7:15) Discussion with candidates for two open seats on our committee.  Josh LoPresti, Dan Pierpont, and Uwe Tobies have submitted notices of interest.   VOTE:  To recommend two candidates to the Town Manager for appointment to the Trails Committee
  4. (7:45) Sign Subcommittee – Earmark money has been received.  Purchases are beginning.
  5. (7:50) Equipment maintenance = Hedge trimmer at Harvard Power Equipment for safety switch replacement; Self-propelled leaf blower subject to a DR recall and will be taken to Great Road Farm & Garden for free repair.

  6. (7:55) Shed/Garage at Town Field behind GPL – Coordinated with Parks Commission, Baseball Organization, and DPW to identify who owns what; cleaned out and organized shed
  7. (8:05) Stoddart Trail in NEFF‘s Sabine Woods – Sufficient money has been raised from donations; McKinley designed, purchased materials, and coordinated construction of two bridges; gravel over geo-grid installation is up next.
  8. (8:15) 2024 Liability Forms for NEFF and GCT – Sent to NEFF and GCT
  9. (8:18) Groton Greenway River Festival (6/9) – We did not participate due to rainstorm during set-up time.

  2. (8:30) Project Planning
    1. Near-term – Stoddart Trail; trailhead posts; Con Comm parcel sign for Bixby
    2. Summer – Sawtell; Nashua Riverwalk signs; Keyes Woods
  • Fall – Nashua Riverwalk trail
