Kickoff Session: “The Big Picture” Panel Discussion

This is the first of over one dozen FREE seminar sessions intended to provide residents with information and ideas they can put to use to improve the sustainability of our Town, our region, and our state.

 

Covering:

·         What’s the latest news in Climate Change – globally, nationally & regionally?

·         What opportunities are enabled by recent U.S. & state legislation: the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the MA Climate Bill?

·         What motivated you to care about the issues and what are you working on?

·         What can Groton residents begin to do – today – to help make a difference?

Featuring:

·         Local Boston-area Climate Leader: Keith Bergman (Climate Reality Project)

·         Educators from All 3 Secondary Schools in Town: Melanie McCracken (GDRHS), Michelle Ruby (Lawrence Academy), and David Black, Ph.D. (Groton School)

·         Motivated and Motivational Students: Catherine Daly and Svea Sullivan (President & Vice President, GDRHS Environmental Club)

·         Practical, Inspired Professionals: Sue Thomas (Town Sustainability Coordinator – Westford and Carlisle) and Charlotte Weigel (Groton Sustainability Commission)
