TOWN OF GROTON PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

Environmental Notification Form / Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan
Phase II

On behalf of the Town of Groton, Massachusetts, Board of Selectmen and Lost Lake Sewer Committee, Woodard & Curran filed the Phase II Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan Report as an attachment to an Environmental Notification Form (ENF) with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) Office on July 16, 2012.

The Environmental Monitor provides notice of all submissions received by the MEPA Unit of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) under the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, Sections 62 through 62.11 in order to provide an opportunity for public comment on matters before the Secretary.

Based on the July 16, 2012 submission, The Environmental Monitor will publish the Groton ENF / Phase II CWMP Notice on July 25, 2012, which will initiate the public comment period. The ENF/ CWMP comments are due on August 14, 2012, with the Secretary’s decision due on August 24, 2012.

In accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Municipal Facilities Guide to Comprehensive Wastewater Management Planning, the Town will hold a Public Hearing on August 8, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room on the 1st Floor of Town Hall.. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to present the draft recommendations from the above-referenced Document and solicit input from interested parties. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. A record of public comment will be included in the Phase III Document and in each Depository, as outlined below.

As part of the public participation process, the Town established permanent information Depository locations throughout the Town, which can be viewed by the public. The Depositories are located at the following locations; 1) Board of Selectmen; 2) Land Use Department; and Water Department. The entire filing, as well as related materials, can be viewed on the Town’s website at http://town ofgroton.org/.

All comments on the ENF / CWMP must be received by MEPA no later than August 14, 2012 and addressed as follows:
